Abby Johnson’s “Unplanned” is a page-turner!

Category : General Pro-Life, News

1st day of receiving “Unplanned” by Abby Johnson in the mail, I could NOT put the book down!

  • This is the authentic, 100% honest story of Abby Johnson’s transformative experience from being pro-abortion to pro-life.

  • It unveils the reality of what real abortion workers truly think, believe, and feel about their work.

  • The power of the 40 Days for Life peaceful prayer campaign is demonstrated in the life of Abby.

  • Most of all this book helps pro-lifers to intimately approach all abortion workers with hearts of understanding and compassion – which is a MUST if we are to help any of them leave abortion and work for life.

If you have never read a pro-life book before, this is a great start.  For us to be successful advocates for life, we must educate ourselves extensively on the issue.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do I understand why people choose abortion?
  2. Do I know how to help someone who is in a crisis pregnancy?
  3. Do I know how to help a post-abortive man or woman?
  4. Why do people work for abortion?
  5. Why is abortion wrong?

Here are some other suggested pro-life educational materials:

  1. abort73.com (Has proof, explanations, and all information about the abortion issue)
  2. Pro-Life 101: A Step-by-Step Guide to Making Your Case Persuasively by Scott Klusendorf (Clear, concise explanation on how to make a persuasive pro-life argument.  THIS IS A MUST-HAVE FOR ALL PRO-LIFERS)
  3. Ending Abortion; Not Just Fighting It by Father Frank Pavone (essays on how to end abortion)
  4. Forbidden Grief by Dr. Laura Schlessinger (understanding women suffering from a past abortion)

January 24th 2011.

GREAT NEWS!

Abby Johnson, a pro-life convert who used to be the director of Planned Parenthood last year has finally been able to reveal the secrets of what Planned Parenthood is really like behind closed doors.  If you are looking for an eye-opening read on the abortion business from someone who knows personally – this is a must-have.

Conscience Protection for Medical Professionals under attack:

Category : News

That’s right.

The same president who pledged to the graduating class of Notre Dame in 2009 to “find common ground” on abortion is now trying to remove conscience protection rights from the medical profession.

“When the Obama administration announced plans to get rid of the only federal regulation protecting conscience rights in health care, CMA swung into action and organized a coalition of nearly 50 organizations into a new entity, Freedom2Care,” he said in an email to LifeNews.com. “Our groups helped enable healthcare professionals and patients to flood the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with approximately 340,000 regulation-supporting comments, which, by law, HHS officials must review before getting rid of the regulation.”

“Such efforts apparently delayed the administration acting on its threat until now,” Imbody said.

The advocate for medical professionals said medical workers and the pro-life people who support them need to act now to try to save the regulations.

“The government is now telling the court, in response to a lawsuit by several states against the conscience-protecting regulation, that HHS plans to eliminate or replace the conscience regulation by as early as January 31,” Imbody added. “That means we must act again to raise awareness of this threat to conscience rights, which has the potential to push life-affirming healthcare professionals out of medicine and strand the patients who depend upon them for care.”

“Whether you are a student or a doctor, federal conscience protections will have a significant impact on your ability to continue to practice ethical medicine. Don’t wait for someone else to stand in the gap on this one—take action yourself to protect your rights,” he added.”Share your story if you’ve experienced overt or subtle discrimination, contact your legislators, tell your patients and engage your colleagues.”

Be aware of what is going on so you can act, pray, and make your voice heard.  Lifenews.com is a great internet news resource for pro-lifers because, oftentimes, news regarding the rights of the unborn gets undermined in mainstream news.

Breast Cancer Event Wrap up

Category : Events, News

Wow!  This event was fun, enlightening, and really got UWF student attention!

We had a HUGE screen in the center of the Great Hall of the Commons playing videos and a powerpoint with information on breast cancer risk prevention; a LONG table filled with free pink ribbons and goodie bags.  We had a tri-fold that explained the facts about estrogen and breast cancer and had at least 5 group members assisting students at all times.  We closed up the event with a performance by the UWF Dance team and an inspiring testimony by UWF volley ball coach Melissa Wolter about her experience with breast cancer!

In addition, we received countless compliments from students, UWF SGA, UWF Counseling – and in general, people were REALLY surprised about the breast cancer prevention information we offered!  For all members who supported this event, UWF says “Thank you for giving us the truth and showing us ways we can help protect our health.”

For those who could not attend, here is some of the information we offered:

  • The World Health Organization has declared Estrogen as a Group 1 carcinogen (2005).  That means that it is known to be carcinogenic – not plausibly or possibly – but KNOWN to be carcinogenic to humans.

(Resources:  Here is the list of Group 1 Carcinogens listed on the American Cancer Society’s website.)

**  Note that this same organization (along with Susan G. Komen) does NOT disperse this information to the wide population of young women who are exposing themselves to this carcinogen for years- increasing their risk of breast cancer.

***UWF Students for Life considers this politically correct hiding of vital information UNACCEPTABLE and hosted this event to do what is right in spreading this important information.

  • Young women expose themselves to increased amounts of carcinogenic estrogen by taking hormonal contraceptives (Depo Provera, the pill, Norplant, IUD, etc.)

  • Young women also expose themselves to increased amounts of carcinogenic estrogen via abortion.  To understand the abortion breast cancer link better- watch the following video:

  • YouTube Preview Image

Please help spread the word about the Estrogen-Connection to breast cancer.  This information can help save many lives.  Both hormonal contraception, hormonal therapy, and abortion increase a woman’s risk of breast cancer.  Also, put pressure on all cancer organizations to stop being politically correct and start inform women of ALL their risk factors.

Abortion clinic Vigil Follow-up story

Category : News, Stories

UWF Students for Life covered the 9th Avenue Abortion clinic,

NOT with yelling – hatred – flame – or weapon,

but with a loving presence and 12 full hours of PRAYER!

What did this do??  What fruit came of this labor??

  • 4 Lives were SAVED!  4 Lives that would not be here right now are FREE – ALIVE – and SAFE.
  • The abortionist left early because there was less business.  Abortion business = death.  Less business = more LIFE!
  • Mothers and fathers were exposed to a loving community and the Alpha Center phone number they can call for free help and support.

UWF Students for Life and the mothers and fathers and babies

all thank you for having the courage to pray vigil Friday.

Thank you! Gracias! Merci! Vielen Dank! etc.

Read below for a small account of the vigil we did:

On a week that began with Respect Life Sunday and two Jericho marches in Pensacola led by children, we were blessed to witness four mothers choose life yesterday.

My family and I arrived just before 6 AM yesterday morning.  Between 6:45 and 7:30 AM we witnessed four miracles.  After we finished the Rachel Rosary, a mother and a daughter left around 6:45 AM!    Then as we were singing the Divine Mercy Chaplet with UWF students for Life and other prayer participants, we had three mothers save the life of their baby!  One daughter came out of the abortion clinic crying while walking beside her mother.   As they moved past us I asked the mother and daughter if we could help them, she responded with a smile, and walked with her daughter to what appeared to be the family vehicle.  This appeared to be a turn-a-round because the abortionist had just arrived and women never walk to their cars across a busy street after an abortion.

One couple arrived with a Puerto Rican flag on the rear view mirror.  I knew one of our UWF Students for Life was from Puerto Rico so I asked her to stand at the edge of the driveway to speak to the couple when they got out of their vehicle.  She never had a chance to speak with them though.  That is because they never got out!  At the very end the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the couple backed up, and drove away.  We smiled and waved at the couple.  The man gave us a thumps up and smiled back at us!  Thank you Jesus!

Just after this, two young women walked past us.  They were actually two women my wife spoke with the prior day.  As they walked by us, my wife spoke with the young mother.  She asked her if she had an abortion.  Her answer was, “No, I couldn’t go through with it!”  The two women proceeded to walk to their car.  How amazing is your love and mercy, Lord!

Thank you, to everyone that has been praying during this 40 Days for Life.  Keep going in prayer.  God wants us to keep going!  40 Days for Life is only half way through.  We need prayer volunteers through October 31, and beyond until Pensacola become an abortion free city!  Let’s pray for the conversion of the abortionist and the staff.  Let’s pray for the end of apathy in our community.  Let us pray for the end of the culture of death.   In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen!

Pro-Life Freedom Ride a SUCCESS!

Category : Events, News

First, I’d like to thank all the members who came with us to Birmingham to support this worthy cause, the cause for LIFE!

We had the awesome opportunity to meet and converse with admirable pro-life leaders including: Father Frank Pavone, Dr. Alveda King, Jim Pinto, Ryan Bomberger, Joy Pinto, and other inspiring leaders.  Pictures and videos we took from the event are embedded below so that you can get a taste of what the future Pro-Life Freedom Rides will be like.  Keep in mind, these events are historical. These peaceful protests, pro-life assemblies, marches, and freedom rides are going to be in tomorrow’s history books.  Abortion is not forever. We are on the winning side, the side that exults LIFE!

What can you do to support this ministry?

FIRST – Watch the videos. Gain from the inspirational speeches. They are a gift to strengthen the pro-life community.

SECOND – Attend one of the Pro-Life Freedom Ride events.  If you cannot go to the one being held in Knoxville Tenn. this October, help us to bring it to Pensacola.  Only average Joe’s like you and I can make this happen.

THIRDSeriously consider donating to Priests for Life, the organization hosting the Pro-Life Freedom Rides.  They are in dire need of help right now because they have $800,000 in bills to pay and are a completely non-profit, donation supported ministry.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Please pray for an end to abortion and for the success of the efforts of pro-lifers.

Education makes abortion rare

Category : General Pro-Life, Legal, News

Please take 1 Minute out of your day to help save lives!

Sign the petition to encourage Governor Charlie Crist to vote YES on HB1143!

13 week old baby

When women see the picture truth of what is living inside them from an ultrasound image, most women choose NOT to abort.  On the other hand, when women go into an abortion clinic and are told “we are removing your pregnancy” or “it’s not a baby, just a blob of tissue” they more likely will abort believing the lie that their baby is not a real baby. (Proof for this claim can be found in the study below)

In order to abuse or kill someone, it is well known that you have to dehumanize it.  The Nazis did this when their Supreme Court defined Jewish people to be NON-PERSONS.  They were described as dirty vermin in various Nazi-era writings.  The same happened to the African Americans in the United States.  They were defined as NON-PERSONS too – and considered property!  Thankfully today these lies have been uprooted.

What if white slave-owners or Nazi soldiers were forced to see the humanity of their victims?  What if they were forced to see the parents and children hug each other and have family conversations?

Today, in Florida, we have the opportunity to help mothers to see the humanity of their unborn child through the use of ultrasound imaging!  This prevents mothers from being fooled by the unscientific, ridiculous lies abortion providers say about unborn children.

We need to urge our governor Charlie Crist to VOTE IN FAVOR OF BILL:  HB1143.

Study shows power of ultra-sound imaging to influence mothers to decide AGAINST abortion:

Dr. Eric J. Keroack, then medical director of five centers run by A Woman’s Concern in Massachusetts, studied the cases of 436 women considering abortion between October 2000 and April 2002 at a center in Revere and whose outcomes could be traced.

Of those who were considered “abortion-vulnerable” — that is, facing obstacles that they may feel incapable of or unwilling to handle but who had not yet decided to abort — 75.5 percent decided not to have an abortion after viewing the ultrasound of her unborn baby, while 24.5 percent went ahead with an abortion.

“We also observed that during the utilization of these technical advances, our clients frequently demonstrated bonding responses to their pregnancies as well,” Keroack wrote in a letter to colleagues about the study. “Our examinations were not performed with the intention of creating such responses; they were performed in a fashion consistent with accepted medical standards for diagnostic ultrasonography.”

Keroack, who later served briefly as director of the Office of Population Affairs in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, compared those figures to a similar study group from July 1998 to December 1999, before the center had an ultrasound machine.

The statistics were nearly reversed. Of the 344 “abortion-vulnerable” women whose cases were studied and whose outcomes could be determined, 61 percent decided after counseling at the Revere center to go ahead with an abortion, while 33.7 percent decided not to have an abortion.

Keroack’s study concluded: “The ability to decide one’s direction in an unplanned pregnancy is the foundational theory of the ‘pro-choice’ supporters. Allowing a patient to view her ultrasound examination implies respect for the dignity and autonomy of a patient, and her ability to participate wisely in her own plan of care.”
