Hey everyone!
Hope this weekend has been well for everyone. If you have been thinking about ways you can actively be pro-life, here is your prized opportunity: this Wednesday begins 40 Days for Life! If you did not attend our 40 Days for Life informational event, you can find out more information below, or check the official website: 40daysforlifepensacola.com. Also, feel free to email us for any individual questions.
To kick off the 40 Days for Life campaign, there will be a candlelight vigil held in front of the 9th Avenue abortion clinic on Tuesday at 7PM and a Catholic Mass held at 6:30PM on Wednesday. If you would like to go to the Mass, Catholics from UWF Students for Life as well as CCM are meeting at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL at 6PM to carpool. If you want to host a special service for the unborn or have any type of 40 Days for Life event at your church or place of worship, let me know so I can let others know.
I am so happy that you have answered the call to get interested in speaking up for the unborn. You recognize the need to advocate and help the most vulnerable in our world. There are tons and tons of opportunities available out there.
Ask us questions, provide input, share your skills and talents. We are here to help and support you, but realize that you are also very important in shaping and strengthening the influence of our group. Your active role in our group has the potential to radically change the lives of many people. Great transformation starts with baby steps, so keep an open mind and heart and let me know how your experiences with these pro-life opportunities go. I hope you all have a good week and remember to SMILE~
Your mom chose LIFE!
Many blessings to all,
Bernadette Ensley
Information: For all those who have never heard of 40 Days for Life, it is an inter-faith campaign (that means you can participate no matter what faith background you have) in which men and women pray for an end to abortion. This peaceful and profound program harnesses the power of prayer and petition to ask the Creator of life to bring an end to abortion. People can offer up prayer in many different ways: verbal prayer, silent prayer, prayer in song, prayer of presence, reading sacred scripture, fasting (abstaining from something of pleasure to offer up an authentic sacrifice, ex: chocolate, TV, surfing the internet, a meal, etc.), and hosting a religious/worship service for the unborn. The goal is to make a great united petition to our Creator to bring an end to abortion.
At the same time, our presence in front of the abortion clinic brings about awareness in the community. It brings awareness:
- To abortion workers that all human life is sacred.
- To women going into the clinic to get an abortion; that we are praying for them and their baby, and that there are a lot of people who want to help them.
- To Pensacola citizens; that the sad reality of abortion is taking place in their own town, and that we need to do something to change this.
- To post-abortive moms and dads; that we are praying for them and are here to help them.
Get Active! We hope you will consider participating in 40 Days for Life with us!
