Why reduce abortions???? Why????
Today I heard someone advocating a “compromise” between pro-aborts and pro-lifers. The idea is that both sides agree that abortion should be REDUCED.
Let’s apply this logic of “let’s agree that abortion should be REDUCED” to another topic, let’s say child abuse.
Would you say you are against child abuse? If so, to what extent? Do you believe there are some circumstances for which child abuse is justifiable – or perhaps are there some situations where it is at least understandable for an adult to abuse a child?
The resounding answer is NO.The politically correct answer is NO.The TRUTH is NO.
So, if abortion is the violent killing of a living human being, an act which goes beyond harming an individual – the taking of one unique individual’s life…. (If you doubt this definition, feel free to view an abortion by clicking here)
Would you then remain content upon “reducing“ – not ending - the violence of abortion?
If it was you scheduled this week to be violently killed – never given a chance to write the story of your life – never given a chance to dream or know the meaning of friendship – IF THE ABORTION WAS TO GET RID OF YOU – would YOU be content to allow even that one aborted child to be YOU?

If you or anyone you know is pregnant and needs help. Please call this number: 1-800-395-HOPE (5433) Standing against the injustice of abortion does NOT equivocate standing against women tempted to abort or women who have aborted. Rather all are embraced. Both persons: mother and child, deserve the freedom to heal, hope, and receive help. There are many who want to help – who do not judge you – who want freedom and joy for you –
GIVE HOPE A CHANCE.

This Ambassadorship Training series will continue for approximately 5 Saturdays.
Florida Teens for Life just became a group !
We saw them at Pro-Life Freedom Rides in Birmingham Alabama, we celebrated with them at their kick-off party, and now we are all invited to join them in their monthly “Solidarity Saturday” event. From 8AM to 10AM, pro-life teens will pray for the ending of abortion in our city. Let’s meet these awesome people with a purpose and “unite forces” in praying for an end to abortion.
Where: In the Hobby Lobby parking lot off Davis Hwy (6235 North Davis Highway, Pensacola, FL)
What: We will walk from Hobby Lobby to the abortion clinic behind it (1/4 mile) to pray for an end to abortion.
When: 8AM (meet at Hobby Lobby and then walk to abortion clinic) stand vigil til’ 10AM

First, I’d like to thank all the members who came with us to Birmingham to support this worthy cause, the cause for LIFE!
We had the awesome opportunity to meet and converse with admirable pro-life leaders including: Father Frank Pavone, Dr. Alveda King, Jim Pinto, Ryan Bomberger, Joy Pinto, and other inspiring leaders. Pictures and videos we took from the event are embedded below so that you can get a taste of what the future Pro-Life Freedom Rides will be like. Keep in mind, these events are historical. These peaceful protests, pro-life assemblies, marches, and freedom rides are going to be in tomorrow’s history books. Abortion is not forever. We are on the winning side, the side that exults LIFE!
What can you do to support this ministry?
FIRST – Watch the videos. Gain from the inspirational speeches. They are a gift to strengthen the pro-life community.
SECOND – Attend one of the Pro-Life Freedom Ride events. If you cannot go to the one being held in Knoxville Tenn. this October, help us to bring it to Pensacola. Only average Joe’s like you and I can make this happen.
THIRD – Seriously consider donating to Priests for Life, the organization hosting the Pro-Life Freedom Rides. They are in dire need of help right now because they have $800,000 in bills to pay and are a completely non-profit, donation supported ministry.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Please pray for an end to abortion and for the success of the efforts of pro-lifers.
Coverage of first-ever Pro-Life Freedom Ride:

We just finished listening to the 10 hour long Ending Abortion Webcast. We heard from 35 of the nation’s most influential pro-life leaders. 30 different pro-life organizations were represented in all.
There was so much great information and inspiration packed into each and every session that it’s hard to appreciate the weight of it all. Every session is available for replay on the official website. You can even download each session in MP3 format to use any way you wish. David Bereit, National Campaign Director for 40 Days for Life and coordinator of this event, encourages everyone to share these recordings in any way you can – no strings attached.
Here are a few highlights and quotes from the virtual conference:

Volition: The act of making a choice.
What is wrong with being “Pro-Choice” – shouldn’t we be free to “make a choice?” This movie is beautifully made and considers the question of “choice” in 21st century America. What is the significance of volition in relation to the rights and dignity of other persons?
Pro-Life Freedom Ride:
If you would like to participate in this pro-life social justice convention in Birmingham Alabama, please email us. A group of pro-lifers from the Pensacola panhandle will be caravan-ing to Birmingham July 22nd (for those interested in being on the EWTN show “Life on the Rock”) and July 23rd (for those not going to EWTN).

This is a great opportunity to stand up for life and network with national pro-life leaders, especially those within the African American community. Come support life!
Pro-Life Freedom Ride/40 Days for Life Planning Meeting
Where: 900 West Garden Street Pensacola, FL 32502 (St. Stephen’s Community Hall)
When: 2:30PM Saturday (June 26)
Why: Because the unborn children have no one but you. Mother’s also depend on you to uphold their maternal dignity!
Remember the Freedom Rides of the Civil Rights movement?
For those of us who weren’t around then, “Freedom Rides” constituted a distinctive moment of resolve and unity. The Supreme Court, in its 1960 decision Boynton vs. Virginia, had outlawed segregation in bus terminals and restaurants serving interstate travelers. So the following spring, thirteen people – seven African-Americans and six whites – decided to travel by bus from Washington DC to New Orleans to test the enforcement of that Supreme Court decision.
Along the way, particularly in Alabama, they encountered opposition and violence from those who did not want desegregation. But having been brutally attacked, and some lying with wounds in hospital beds, the “Freedom Riders” vowed that the journey would continue. That’s when others joined in, and the first Freedom Ride became 60 rides across Southern states in the summer of 1961, with some 450 riders participating. And by the fall of that same year, the government issued orders for the enforcement of desegregation at the bus terminals.
Why do a Freedom Ride today?
The Civil Rights movement and the Pro-Life movement have the same heart and soul: a longing for equal justice for everyone, based on the inherent dignity of every human life. That’s why, when Dr. Alveda King first walked with me at the annual March for Life and I asked her, “Does this remind you of the marches in the civil rights movement?” she declared, “Fr. Frank, this is the civil rights movement!” Both movements are movements of freedom.
Freedom from the lies and the deceit that allow abortion to continue…
Freedom from the fear of speaking up and taking action for the unborn…
Freedom from the shame and guilt of past involvement in abortion, so that those called to speak up and share their testimonies may do so as people who are “Silent No More”…
Freedom from the political oppression that tramples on human rights and denies equality before the law…
Freedom from violence and death itself.
Find out all the many ways you can participate in “Pro-Life Freedom Ride 2010″ this SATURDAY at 2:30PM at the Community Hall of St. Stephen’s.
We need YOUR ideas and your help! Come join us, meet other pro-lifers in the area, and ultimately be a part of efforts to bring peace back to the womb!
